Bài báo này giới thiệu phương pháp phân tích sự mất ổn định uốn do gió của cáp dây văng có gắn cản nhớt. Các mode phức và liên kết giữa mode dao động theo các mặt phẳng cáp được xét tới. Các mode phức này không được xét đến trong các nghiên cứu trước đây, còn sự liên kết giữa các mode cũng thường bị bỏ qua trong các tính toán thực tế. Kết quả phân tích cho một kết cấu cáp của một cầu dây văng trong thực tế chỉ ra tầm quan trọng của các yếu tố này.
